1. Work Experience
PR applicants must have full-time experience for a minimum of 12 months. Few occupations require a specific education or license to apply for a PR visa. Here is the table which describes your work experience points:

Applicants to the Federal Skilled Worker Program must have significant work experience in a skilled role that must meet the following requirements:
- Must have totaled at least 1,560 hours; approximately one year of full time work.
- Must have been gained in a paid job, or multiple paid jobs.
- Must have been gained within the last 10 years.
- Must have been gained in a managerial, skilled professional, or skilled trade role; Skill Type 0, Skill Level A, or Skill Level B in Canada’s National Occupational Classification system (NOC). A full list of FSWP eligible trades on the NOC can be found on the Canada National Occupation Classification List.
2. Language points
Applicants must have adequate knowledge of English, French or both languages. To prove this, applicants must include test results from the following language test providers on their Express Entry profile before applying for a visa:
- The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), OR;
- The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP), OR;
- The Test devaluation de Francis (TEF) is widely spoken in Canada.
Applicants are tested in 4 language components: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Applicants must meet at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 in all 4 components of the language test for their “first official language” (either English or French) for a maximum of 24 points. Applicants can then gain an additional 4 points if they reach CLB level 5 in their ‘second official language’.

3. Basic Educational Qualification Points
Applicant should have a Canadian or equivalent education. The course should be from a recognized university or institution. You may also meet the qualification specialization requirements depending on the NOC code.
High school diploma is a minimum qualification. The education is evaluated by the ECA.

4. Employment points (maximum 10 points)
If you already have a job offer in Canada or if you already work in a country (full-time and permanent) that is listed as Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or Skill Level B on the Canadian National Occupational Classification List, you will receive 10 points in any of following situations:
1. If you’re currently working in Canada on a temporary work permit, and:
- Your work permit was granted subject to a successful Labour Market Impact Assessment
- Your work permit is valid, and will still be valid when the FSWP visa is granted
- The employer named on your work permit has made you a permanent, full time job offer
OR
2. You are currently working in Canada on a temporary work permit, and:
- The job for which the work permit was issued is not subject to the Labour Market Impact Assessment under an agreement such as the NAFTA agreement or a federal-provincial agreement
- Your work permit is valid, and will still be valid when the FSWP visa is granted
- The employer named on your work permit has made you a permanent, full time job offer
OR
3. You do not have a Canadian work permit, and do not plan to work in Canada before your FSWP visa is granted, and:
- A Canadian employer has offered you a full time and permanent job
- The employer has received a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment for the job
OR
4. You are currently working in Canada and have been offered a full time and permanent job with a different Canadian employer, and:
- The employer has received a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment for the job
OR
5. You are currently working in Canada in a job that is not subject to the Labour Market Impact Assessment, but NOT due to an international agreement such as the NAFTA agreement or a federal-provincial agreement.
5. Adaptability (maximum 10 points)
You and your accompanying partner/spouse can receive a maximum of 10 points based on any combination of the elements listed below:

1. English Exam For Canada PR Process
Apply for Canada immigration first step you have to go thought English exam test. There are two types of exams are conducted to get Canada PR :

2. Education Assessment – ECA
Education Credential Assessment which is known as ECA. It is done by multiple organizations and provides you the Canadian equivalent degree assessment of your native country’s education. We have put two major degree assessment organizations in our list:

An education assessment can take 6 to 8 weeks. The cost of ECA is approximately CAD $285 (CAD 200 fee + CAD 85 international delivery of results).
3. Express Entry Canada profile
“Express Entry” is the name of the online system used by Canadian Immigration for PR applications. By creating an application in the express entry system, you will join the group of candidates waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply Canada PR).
Please ensure that all information provided in your online profile is accurate as you will be asked to submit all of this information once you are selected.
Express Entry Canada Profile Cost

Waiting for CIC Draw and Invite
After successfully created profile in Express Entry pool your waiting period is started. Every 3-4 weeks Canadian immigration runs a draw called ROI (Rounds of Invitation). The Canadian government declares a minimum cut-off score (CRS points) for each draw. All Express Entry profiles that score equal to or higher than the draw will receive an invitation to claim a PR. This is called an invitation to apply (ITA). The score varies in each draw and is usually set to a number that is sufficient to invite a quota of 2800-3500 applicants for the draw.
4. Days to Submit Documents after ITA
Once you receive the invitation (ITA), you will have 60 days to submit all documents proving your education and work experience. Here are the list of the documents which usually need to submit :
Documents required for ITA:
- Color copy of Passport.
- Digital Photograph.
- Proof of Education & IELTS of all applicants.
- Proof of Employment of primary applicant.
- Proof of Funds of the primary applicant.
- Proof of Medical of all applicants.
- Police clearance certificate (from all countries where you have resided for 6 months or more) of all applicants.
You can get Indian PCC from Indian Embassy if you are outside India. People physically present in India can obtain a PCC from the Indian Passport Office. If you are in the US, you will need an FBI certificate. You can request an extension if the PCC is delayed by the FBI embassy.
Medical, PCC and notarization costs vary by location. Ideally, all costs should be covered in the range of CAD 300-350 per applicant.
5. Canada PR Fee & Processing Time
Canadian PR fees are CAD 1050 per applicant. After submitting the documents and paying the immigration fees, Canadian immigration officials will verify the documents and information. PR processing in Canada generally takes 2 to 4 months depending on the type of application, the countries the person has resided in and most importantly the immigration visa office where the application was sent for processing and how big the backlog is requests. The New Delhi visa office is notorious for taking approximately 4 months, sometimes more, to process and verify submitted documents.
6. Passport Submission, CoPR
After the documents verification, applicants are informed of the result of their application by post. After successful processing, candidates are required to submit their passports for Visa Stamping and CoPR (Confirmation of permanent residence) to the VFS Global. The cost would be around CAD$30 per passport. The stamped passport is returned to the designated address within 2 weeks along with 2 copies of the CoPR. Congrats!! now you are eligible to fly Canada.
7. Reaching Canada on CoPR & Apply for PR card
Applicants should travel to Canada within the period specified in the passport. The term of office is generally until the validity of the passport or the validity of the medical certificate, whichever is earlier. In any case, the visa will not be for more than 1 year. Applicants are expected to plan their travel, temporary or permanent migration to Canada within the visa deadlines and submit one copy of the CoPR at the time of landing. The second copy is stamped and returned.
You should confirm the Canada PR at the port of entry, obtain a social insurance number at the ‘Service Centre’ at the airport.
8. Receiving Canada PR card
The Canada PR card will be sent by courier to the address provided by the applicants at the time of their landing. The address must be a Canadian address. The official Canada PR card processing time is 62-65 days. The PR card will be delivered to the address within 50-80 days. In case you have done a soft landing (temporary migration) to complete the formalities to land before your visa expires, you can ask any friend coming to your home country to bring your PR card with them.
Canada PR cards are not sent by courier outside of Canada and must be delivered in person in such cases.
9. You’ve got the Canada PR
After receiving the your Canada PR card, you are officially Canadian Permanent Resident. The PR card is valid for 5 years. A person should live in Canada for 730 days in 5 consecutive years to continue their PR card for another 5 years after it expires. If a person has resided in Canada for more than 1095 days in 5 consecutive years, they are eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.
