A Police Clearance Certificate which is knows as PCC or police clearance, is issued to Indian passport holders or foreign nationals if they have applied for a resident status, employment or long-term visa or an immigrant visa for another country. You can get Indian Police Clearance Certificate when you are staying in Canada, UK, USA or any other country from Indian Embassy.

Type A: Documents required for Indian PCC (Indian Citizens):

How to apply for Indian police clearance online from Canada ?

Step 1: Visit the link for police clearance online
The online application for PCC must be completed and submitted online on PCC portal. The form can be filled up and submitted online at the Passport India portal.

Step 2: Select the country
Select the country where you are currently living.

Step 3: Create an account on PCC online portal.
Register your account by providing all the personal details. Make sure you have put all the details correctly.

Step 4: Check you email.
After registering on PCC online portal you’ll get an activation link in your email. Click on that to activate your account.

Step 5: User login
Click on the user login tab to login and fill your User Name and ID.

Step 6: Apply for PCC online
There are various services are provided by the passport office. Click on apply for Police Clearance Certificate.

Step 7: Fill the police clearance application
Once you click on apply for Police Clearance Certificate you’ll get an application form. Provide all the details such as your personal information, purpose of PCC, country which PCC required, and etc.

All the red marks information are mandatory.

Step 8: Note your reference number
After filling all the information correctly, you’ll get a file number, which you can track further.

Step 9: Submission documents to BLS
Print your police clearance application and submit the application along with the supporting documents to BLS. BLS is a web portal where you can submit your BLS PCC documents.

For BLS PCC postal applications may take longer to process at BLS. So, it is suggested for faster processing, better to submit PCC application at BLS by hand.

What is the processing time for police clearance certificate in Canada through BLS ?

The usual processing time for police clearance is 8 weeks in Canada through BLS. However, it depends on your police verification from your home country police station. PCC can be issued only after receiving a “Clear” message from the police authorities in India.
